Subject:  The Trouble with Journalists...

...they are just plain stupid!!!!!!!

I have been reading the Jonathan Weiler interview transcript as well as some of the comments -- and the more I read the higher my frustration level -- I apologize -- but here goes

You guys have a fucking gold mine in your hands and are too fucking stupid to capitalize on it. You are so close -- so close, but yet so far.

Do you read your comments -- I mean, really read them?? Of course, I see Glenn occasionally responding -- and that is good, but not near enough.

Here's the point -- the Associated Press posted a piece by Alexa Olesen entitled, "AP, News Corp bosses tell search engines to pay up". I assume that you have seen it.

Now, that is just plain stupid -- they obviously fail to understand what is happening.

Google doesn't give shit about the content provider because they own the database -- why do you think that Microsoft and Yahoo are so interested in search -- because they own competing databases.

Google is beginning to get interested in comments -- they are starting to add comments to their database -- doesn't that tell you anything??

As content creators you should be building your own database -- or contributing to one where you share ownership.

How about creating a National Archive of Published Content where you control all the advertising on your content??

And remember that I am including each and every comment post as part of your content (we can discuss remuneration to your contributors later).

Obviously there are a lot more to talk about -- have I made any headway -- or do I have to go public??
